Inspiration

Photos from last night:

Sunset at the Lake

Perfect opening scene for a murder mystery.

Ladies at the Lake

And look, my first two victims: Ethel and Agnes.

Huh?

Or maybe I should write a ghost story . . .

  1. Great photos! I especially like the first one. It looks tranquil...even if you plan to commit murder there. *g*

  2. Beautiful!

The last one makes me think to ask: Do you have curly hair??

  3. Awesome pictures. I had to blink when I saw the names Ethel and Agnes. My Grandma Miller's first name was Agnes. She had two sisters. Ethel and Gretchen. If you'd written a Gretchen into your murder mystery I would have truly been pole-axed.

Aha! A name for the ghost.

Lol. Nope, no curly hair here. Plus I was wearing a ponytail, so nothing loose. It had to be Beth's grand-aunt, trying to get my attention. :O

  5. The ghost looks like it was a world-class marathon runner in an earlier life.

  6. Is this what a lifetime of writing does to you? You see a gorgeous picture of tranquility and think immediately about murder?

(I have been pretty mad at those publishers myself...)

I'm putting together two book proposals, both set in Central Florida, so I've been out snapping lots of pics for inspiration. One is a mystery/murder series, but the other is a YA Christian series (that's what a lifetime of writing does to you -- makes you able to contemplate both simultaneously without a qualm, lol.)
